Ukrainian-Swiss Mother and Child Health Programme

Ukrainian-Swiss Mother and Child Health Programme is financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and is implemented by a number of Ukrainian governmental and medical institutions in cooperation with the Swiss Centre for International Health (department of the Swiss Tropical Institute (STI), Basel). The Programme consists of 4 components. The Child Well-being Fund is implementing the Component “Intersectoral model of mother and child health promotion”.

Implementation period: 2008-2010

Programme Objective: Improved availability, quality, effectiveness and access to promotional, preventive and curative maternal and child health (MCH) services in selected Ukrainian oblasts, rayons and communities.


Childhood without violence – improvement of the system of child protection in Eastern Europe

The project is supported by OAK Foundation (Switzerland).

The project is implemented in six countries: Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, and Ukraine.

Aim: To improve the professional competence of specialists who work with children who suffered from violence, and also shape public attitudes towards the problem of child abuse.


Prevention of Human Trafficking through Social Work and Community Mobilization

Project "Prevention of Human Trafficking through Social Work and Community Mobilization" has being performed since January 2009 by three partner organizations. The main executor of the project is the International Organization of, the project partners are the Child Well-being Fund Ukraine and Western Resource Center.


Aim of the project is to reduce the negative consequences of human trafficking and uncontrolled migration in some regions of Ukraine by wide involvement of local social workers and teachers, as well as by training and support of public activists in the local work on a basis of community development.


“Overcoming Violence – Piloting a Model for the Structural Prevention of Violence towards Children”

The project is implemented with the support of the international organization "Brot für die Welt" (Germany). The project is being implemented in four pilot districts of Kyiv: Darnytsia, Obolon’, Podil, Sviatoshyn.


Aim: To improve social services in the sphere of prevention of child abuse in 4 pilot districts of Kyiv


Family Type Homes in Kirovograd (Ukraine)-²²I

Adaptation of the Interactive Counter-Trafficking Computer-Based Training Contents to the Needs and Perceptions of the Target Audience

The project is being implemented due to the agreement of the Child Well-Being Fund Ukraine and the International Organization for Migration funded by the United States Agency for International Development

Project goal: to adapt the text and prototype of the interactive computer-based training “Trafficking in Persons – Modern-Day Slavery” to the needs and peculiarities of perceptions of information by the target group (young people of 16-21 years)

Project period: March 1, 2011 – August 31, 2011


Study on the Situation of Moldavian Unaccompanied Children in Ukraine

The project is implemented with the support of Terre des Hommes Moldova (Project FACT Transnational Action “Protection of Moldovan children at risk or victims of exploitation and/or trafficking in Russian Federation and Ukraine”.

Project goal: Increase the understanding of the situation of the Moldovan minors with an illegal status in Ukraine and the practices of the state in matters of repatriation with a child right approach.

Project period: January 10, 2011 – April 4, 2011
